Question: What part of a home do Americans ignore most?
If you said, “The attic,” you would be correct! property owners rarely visit their attics, unless of course, there is a problem or that indoors temperatures become unbearable.
So what do you need to know about your home insulation?
Insulation levels and efficiency are measured in R-Value.
R-Value is a measure of insulation’s ability to resist heat traveling through it. The higher the R-Value the better the thermal performance of the insulation.
You can get the desired R-value from both fiber batts or blown in cellulose, however, there are advantage and disadvantage for each type of insulation, and you should talk to your installer to understand which insulation material will be the ideal solution for your attic or crawl space.
